Watch this video to learn about important Medicaid updates in Georgia. You may need to take steps to keep your benefits.
Georgia is required as of April 2023 to re-evaluate every individual on Medicaid thathas not been evaluated since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
If you are on Medicaid, you should take the following steps:
1. Check Gateway.ga.gov to make sure DFCS has your current mailing address. If it is wrong, update it right away.
2. Have all paperwork related to income changes, such as social security benefits or job changes when DFCS contact you.
3. Respond right away if DFCS contacts you by phone or mail.
4. Contact Atlanta Legal Aid immediately if you receive a notice that you are being kicked off Medicaid. You can appeal a Medicaid decision within 10 days. Legal Aid may be able to assist you.
